One Step Beyond

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Over the edge I stare,
Not quite ready to go,
Even though I know I must.
So far down through the air,
To the depths below,
Eyes on the prize is what I need to do to be nonplussed.
Perhaps if I wait long enough it will go away,
But I know it is not so,
Even though I wish it were that easy.
Yet I know it will take a leap of faith today,
Onto the path I must go,
Needing to keep on before I get queasy,
Down the mountain path I go.

Twitter vs Myspace

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Some of you who talk to me on a regular basis may know that I’ve never had a page on Myspace. I’ve been asked before by some of my friends who are on there to make one but my response was always the same; “Why do that when I’m paying for my own domain?”

So some of you may be wondering why I jumped onto the Twitter bandwagon. The way I see it Twitter is a completely different animal. You post on both of them, but Myspace is more of a standard blog, whereas Twitter is more for quick posts and updates. I’ll post things on Twitter that I doubt I would have ever posted here on the main blog.

Also, unlike Myspace I can integrate Twitter onto my own site, so it’s not like I have to send people all over the web to see everything I’m posting.

E-Mail Blues

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

So many offers,
Perhaps this one is good.
As I consider the options,
My brain wonders if I should.
Silently I ponder,
Can it be legit?
And as I think about it,
My trash folder is where I send it.

Stuck in a Corner

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

My escape is blocked,
Oh how I want to get out,
Patiently waiting.

Insomnia

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Tossing,
Turning,
Can’t seem to get comfy.

Stirring,
Waking,
Why can’t I sleep peacefully?

Tossing,
Turning,
Impossible to rest it seems.

Resting,
Sleeping,
Please don’t interrupt my dreams

Converting Video Podcasts in iTunes

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

Finally upgraded to version 7.1.1.5 of iTunes the other day, and on a whim I decided to try something that before didn’t work. I get a few video podcasts that I like to keep, but unlike the audio podcasts I couldn’t find a way to move them from the podcast folder to the movie folder. With the audio podcasts I just had to right click on them and convert to MP3, but with most of the video podcasts when I right clicked on them and did convert for iPod (which would move it to the movie folder) an error popped up saying the video was already in the correct format. This mainly happened with MP4 files, which the majority of the video podcasts I get are in.

Now however after downloading this update iTunes is converting the MP4’s. There are still a couple videos it is saying is already in the correct format, but far fewer now.

Some Party

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

Broken pieces on the floor,
I still can’t believe it’s done.
Running the day through my head,
Thoughts of all the delightful fun.
Hard to picture the garbanzo’s flying,
Doubly so the fish,
Amazing how stunning the party was,
Yet I still hope I get my wish.

All A-Twitter

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

Just signed up for a twitter account. Still trying to get it integrated with my site though.

Update: Got it working, I think Twitter was having some issues.

More New Features

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Well, just did some more tweaking on the blog. The archive and category menus are now pull down menus instead of just listing everything on the page (and taking up lots of room).

Thanks to Justin for helping me figure out what I needed to do to get it done.

Also thanks to Alan Morgan for writing the plugins/widgets necessary to implement the feature.

Guest Book Added (Again)

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Well, I just re-added a guest book to the site. Some of you may remember that I had one before, but I finally found a way to integrate it better with the entire site. So please feel free to go and sign the guest book and let me know that I have people who visit.

Not One Word

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

Can’t say a word,
Have to stay silent.
Aren’t you going to guess?
Really you should try.
Am I not being clear?
Do you not have a clue?
Eureka! You got it!
Shhhhh.. Now it’s your turn.

Deadly Smile

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

Be careful dear friend,
When traveling near the river Nile.
Be ever watchful for the crocodile,
For seeing him could mean your untimely end.

For even though he seems lacking of any guile,
And has a big toothy grin.
He’ll just as soon eat you and your kin,
As give you that oh so deadly smile.

Finding Forever

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

Going on forever,
One, two, three thousand results and more.
Overload of information,
Gadzooks, what am I in for?
Loads of places to go,
Eventually I may get to what I’m looking for.
