Trivial Pursuits

She runs around the table,
Chasing some imagined thing.
Her mother watches with a smile,
As the little girl begins to sing.
Her mom doesn’t quite know,
What it is she chases.
To her it’s a trivial pursuit,
But that’s ok because it puts smiles on both their faces.
