Man of Light
He walks life road as best he can,
Burdened by onus, from mortal man,
A beacon glowing ‘cross the night.
Always ready to help others,
Without biased judgment of earth’s brothers,
He is come to set men’s affairs aright.
He lived so long ago,
Yet gave his life, for all tomorrow’s,
Set mankind on gentle flight.
Paying a debt he did not owe,
As ransom paid against demonic foe,
And species blind reigns its sight.
Although he was unjustly slain,
Nailed to a cross with men’s disdain,
But overcame the tyrants’ might.
But deaths grip was not final,
His rise from tomb, as death’s denial,
And spreads over all his precious light.
Giving us all needed hope,
Redeeming souls’ dangling from sins’ rope,
Darkness passed, the path now bright.
Oh blessed our savior, the Man of Light.
