Fame and Infamy

(Another Tandem poem, Fame was written by myself while Infamy was written by my talented cowriter ER Barker)

The bright lights are often blinding,
I like the spotlight
Sometimes I want out, but the contract is binding,
So if the cops come, I’ll put up a fight
The cheers of the audience fill the air,
Courtroom antics at every turn
I live hte high life with nary a care,
Something inside me churns
Jetting from place to place,
Even my dreams are haunted
Living at quite a fast pace,
Seeing myself on America’s Most Wanted
Some ngihts I dream of my old life,
Back in the day
But in this new gig I do strive,
The need to be infamous held sway
The night is over, the lights dim
Hiding out’s not my idea of fun
This life fills me with renewed vigor and vim,
One day I’ll take a bullet and be done
